The song itself describes journey from slow, sorrowful nearly mournful piano, where single keys are used to symbolize the loneliness, when the key makes a sound completely alone and then passes into obscurity before connecting with another. It feels cold, rainy, grey, gloomy. Then the more warm, cheerful notes come in, the ones that state when Hisao had found his friends and is no longer lonely. He's not cold and alone anymore, he's warm and plays in rhythm, together with others. How fitting that the song to begin our journey is also the song that describes this journey.
